Dans un article de NoFrag, daté d'hier matin (très matin :D 3h30), on apprend qu'Epic est en train de travailler sur un projet de portage d'Unreal Championship sur les consols 3eme génération : Xbox 2 et PlayStation 3.

D'autre part...

"We definitely have a list of cool features we wanted to see in this title, and they're certainly at the top of the list for ideas in our next Unreal game. We already have teams working on technology for next-generation consoles (Unreal Engine 3) and you can bet that an Unreal project is in the works."

On peut lire la confirmation d'une rumeur de janvier dernier. Ce ne sera pas Unreal 3 puisqu'Epic n'a pas l'intention de développer le titre avant un bon moment.

"People wondering why we did not pick UT 2004. First realize that Epic is a huge supporter of CPL. The CEO Mark Rein is a friend of mine and Cliffy B is on our advisory board.

A wide range of aspects were taken into consideration, including publisher/developer support for the entire tour. Unfortunately, Epic is transitioning to a new publisher and it was not expected that their current publisher would help us in marketing the game/tour through the end 2005. Additionally, there is a new UT in the works, but it was not going to be available in the time frame we needed.

Ceci dit, on sait qu'un nouvel Unreal Tournament est donc en développement. Est-ce le même jeu dont on parle juste au dessus (qui ne sera pas Unreal 3) ou bien un autre jeu de la série Unreal ?
